Jomolhari , a sacred mountain bordering Bhutan, Thimpu district and Tibet China is revered by locals as the abode of one of the five female protector goddesses (Five Tsheringma Sisters ) of Tibet and Bhutan, who were bound under oath by Padmasambhava (circa 8th century) to protect the land, its people and the tradition of virtue.
The holy mountain serves also as the source of the Paro Chu (Paro river) and nurtures lives and civilization in the region and beyond. The region surrounding the mountain also has been a site of meditation practices of many past masters and enlightened beings such as Milarepa (11th century) and Gyalwa Lorena, meditation caves of whom one can see even today.
Located on the site also is Jomolhari Temple, at the south side of the mountain and Tseringma Lhatso (divine lake of longevity). The site is frequented by religious practitioners and pilgrims maintaining the ancient tradition and wisdom. The tour will allow both the exploration of the natural landscapes as well as immersion into the culture and mindfulness tradition that has continued since ages.
